How to use Coji to understand your energy

Track the clues, notice the patterns, and build support around the energy you actually have.

Coji is most useful when your tracking starts to reveal patterns. You do not need to log perfectly. You are looking for clues about what gives you energy, what drains it, what helps you recover, and what support actually works for you.

A gentle way in

01

Track your energy

Use your Coji energy check ins to record how much capacity you have throughout the day.

Over time, look for patterns.

  • *When is your energy usually highest?
  • *When does it drop?
  • *Are certain days consistently harder?
  • *Do work, socialising, travelling, exercise or sensory environments affect you?
  • *What helps you recover?

One low energy day does not tell you much. Repeated patterns do.

02

Add context

Your Battery tells you how much energy you have.

The next question is: what might be affecting it?

Use your Journal and check ins to add context.

You might notice links with:

  • *sleep
  • *workload
  • *meetings
  • *social interaction
  • *sensory environments
  • *food and hydration
  • *weather
  • *hormones
  • *pain or illness
  • *movement
  • *stress
  • *transitions
  • *recovery time

You do not need to explain every difficult day. You are looking for patterns that are useful enough to act on.

03

Explore your Neuro Profile

Your Neuro Profile helps you explore how your brain works across areas such as attention, sensory needs, executive function, communication and regulation.

Use it alongside your energy history.

Energy drops after busy environments

Explore your sensory profile.

Starting tasks feels disproportionately difficult

Look at executive function and task initiation.

Meetings leave you exhausted

Explore communication, masking and social energy.

Switching between tasks wipes you out

Look at transitions.

Your profile is not there to put you in a box. It gives you language for things you may already be experiencing.

04

Match the pattern to a Coji tool

Once you notice a pattern, you can use Coji to make the next step easier.

If eating becomes difficult

Use Safe Foods to keep a list of foods that are reliable when planning, cooking or deciding what to eat feels like too much. Your list might include very low effort meals, sensory safe foods, freezer options, snacks you can tolerate when your energy is low, and foods you usually have available. The point is to reduce decisions when your capacity is already limited.

If you forget basic needs

Use Body Nudges for things like water, medication, movement, food, posture and breaks. You do not have to rely on remembering everything yourself.

If a task feels impossible to start

Use Flow to break it into smaller steps. Instead of "Clean the kitchen", you might start with "Put the mugs in the sink." Reducing the size of the first step can reduce the energy needed to begin.

If switching tasks is difficult

Use Coji's transition support. Give yourself time to stop one activity before immediately starting another. Transitions are work too.

If other people are taking too much of your capacity

Use Boundaries to work out what you need, what you can realistically give, and how to communicate it. Your energy data can help you spot when certain commitments consistently cost more than expected.

05

Build your MyCoji Plan

Your MyCoji Plan turns what you have learned into your personal operating guide.

Think of it as: What helps me function well?

Things that drain me

Back to back meetings; noisy environments; unexpected changes; too many decisions; long journeys; going too long without eating.

Things that help me

Quiet recovery time; written instructions; movement breaks; advance notice; working on difficult tasks earlier; having safe food available; time between meetings.

Signs I am running low

I stop replying to messages; small tasks suddenly feel huge; noise starts bothering me more; I avoid decisions; I forget to eat; I become more irritable; I start cancelling things.

What helps when my energy is low

Use my Safe Foods list; turn on Body Nudges; break tasks down in Flow; reduce non essential commitments; take sensory recovery time; delay decisions that can wait; ask for help; use my Boundary tools.

06

Experiment

Treat your Coji data like a small experiment.

Notice something. Change one thing. See what happens.

My energy crashes after lunchtime meetings.

Try protecting lunchtime for a week.

I keep skipping meals on low energy days.

Create a Safe Foods list and keep two easy options available.

Then watch what happens to your energy. You do not need to optimise your entire life. You are learning what makes your life easier.

Keep learning

The Coji loop

Track -> Notice -> Understand -> Support -> Learn

Track your energy. Notice patterns. Use your Neuro Profile to understand them. Choose the Coji tool that can support you. Add what works to your MyCoji Plan. Then keep learning.

The aim is knowing yourself well enough to plan life without constantly running yourself into the ground.

Start with one check in whenever you are ready.

What would make your week easier?

Start with your energy, one thing you need to hold, or a question in your journal. You choose what is useful today.
